TEST ICONS AND URLs

Whether you represent a non-profit organization, a for-profit corporation, or just yourself, feel free to copy icons and links to Dr. Epstein's psychological tests as a free service to your website visitors. There is no charge whatsoever for you to display these icons and links on your website and no charge for people to take the tests. All of the tests are empirically based and carefully designed to yield useful information about various aspects of human functioning. The HTML code accompanying each icon (below) will allow you to place the icon onto your own website, into your blogs, or even into your emails. When someone clicks on the icon, the test will open up in a new window, so your own website window remains open. If you need help using the icons, or if your company is interested in sponsoring any of the tests (so that your own icon and link will appear at the end of the test), contact info@drepstein.com.

DOES YOUR MOTIVATIONAL ENGINE NEED A TUNE UP?

Find out with this quiz designed for both managers and individuals by Dr. Robert Epstein. The quiz is based on Dr. Epstein's competencies approach to building motivation and is designed to help you determine what skills you need to become more motivated!

NOTE: This is a "mini" version of the EMCI-i (Epstein Motivation Competencies Inventory for Individuals). The full test, which yields an overall score plus subscale scores in eight specific competency areas, is available here . An abridged, self-scoring version of the EMCI-i is included in Dr. Epstein's recent book: The Big Book of Motivation Games. The EMCI-i focuses on the skills you need to motivate yourself. Dr. Epstein has also developed a test, the EMCI-m, that measures ten different competencies that managers and teachers need to motivate others. The book mentioned above includes exercises that help build specific competencies for both individuals and managers.

Now total up your score, check the rating scale below to find out how motivated you are.

15-27 It's In The Shop
So where exactly IS your motivation? Perhaps even you aren't too sure. Motivation is important to every aspect of life, from getting out of bed in the morning, to making sure you accomplish everything you need to do, and more importantly, everything you want to do. There are many techniques that you can learn to help prop up that sagging motivation and keep yourself zooming along the road of life with a smile across your face.

28-39 Horse and Buggy
Your motivational skills are somewhat primitive, but do work on occasion. Still, there is a lot that you can do to get yourself up and away on the fast track to being well motivated. There are tools you can use to figure out what you want to do and what you need to do, and to get you into a state of making sure everything does get done. So toss out that whip and get yourself some motorized transportation. And put the horse out to stud. He'll quite enjoy it.

40-51 Model T
So your motivation methods are better than those of some of the people around you, they still aren't everything they could be. Motivation can make you move and groove with style and flair. The normal everyday drudge can become something you look forward to and even enjoy, with the proper motivation. Learn the right skills and make a trade-in on that old jalopy. Turn your motivational skills into the proverbial Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

52-63 Fancy Italian Sports Car
Your motivation is strong, fast, sleek, the envy of all who see it, the pride of the industry. You know where you're going and you're determined to get there fast. But, it is still not all it could be. You're working with a high-performance machine (yeah, I mean you, don't let it go to your head) and you can still throw better tires on, invest in a better brand of oil. There are a lot of techniques you can learn to boost your motivation to it's maximum and make all you can of the potential you have. Learn these techniques, and drive like you've never driven before.

64-75 Bullet Train
Your motivation is high, very high. Like the Japanese mag-lev train, you have a tremendous amount of drive to get where you need to be, and there isn't a whole lot out there that can stop you. So scale a mountain, write a novel. You have powerful tools at your disposal, so make use of them to do all that you want to do.
